Project Overview

GoE is providing IO&T services to the U.S. Army Medical Material Agency (USAMMA) for the outfitting of the Medical Materiel Maintenance Depot Tobyhanna Army Depot, which offers world-class logistics support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems across the Department of Defense.

In early 2023, the GoE team was selected to provide its subject matter expertise in support of the USAMMA Army Prepositioned Stock mission. Under this task order, the USAMMA Medical Materiel Maintenance Depot will relocate from its existing footprint comprised of approximately 60,000 square feet in its current building into a newly renovated state-of-the-art building. Once renovated, the 80,000-square-foot building will be a modernized facility comprised of x-ray rooms, admin space, breakroom, warehouse area, forklift charging area, medical equipment maintenance space, sterilizer testing and operation area, and other ancillary spaces.

Under this contract, the GoE team is responsible for procuring and installing more than 1,000 linear feet in warehouse racking (pallet rack) and high-density shelving throughout the building. GoE’s design and equipment planning teams are also providing extensive furniture packages, including new workstations for each employee and work benches for associated working areas, as well as a new forklift package comprised of four units.

GoE’s full scope of services include:

  • Project Management
  • Interior Design
  • Equipment Planning
  • Equipment Purchasing
  • Transition Planning & Relocation Services
  • Final Turnover & Close-out Services

A key element of this project will be GoE’s installation of four KardexRemstar Shuttle® Vertical Lift Modules (VLM) units throughout the facility, offering space saving and improved inventory accuracy. The Shuttle® VLM units consist of vertical designs that reduce manual storage and wasted aisle space. By partnering with trusted subcontractor, V&H Material Handling, the Authorized KardexRemstar Distributor, GoE will utilize these features to ultimately provide tremendous space saving and improved inventory accuracy within the newly renovated building.

The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2023, with an anticipated move-in February 2024.
