On Veterans Day 2021, the U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Go Energistics (GoE) with a 2021 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award. This is GoE’s third consecutive receipt of the award, which recognizes job creators who have made a commitment to recruit, employ and retain our nation’s Veterans.

GoE President & CEO Adam B. Shepherd shared, “As a retired Army Veteran myself, this cause is incredibly important to me, and I am honored to have GoE recognized for the third year in a row. I understand not only the challenges that many Veterans face upon their return to the workforce, but the exceptional skillsets and value that these individuals bring when given the opportunity to transition out of the uniform and into the private sector. When I founded this company, I made a concerted effort to not only hire Veterans but to provide the training and mentorship support that would allow them to grow within their roles at GoE and throughout their careers. When you hire a Veteran, you are gifted with an expected special bond and work ethic that is of the highest caliber. The Veterans on our team make me proud every day and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to pay it forward as an employer.”

Stephanie Hensen, GoE Equipment Planner and Veteran of the U.S. Air Force added, “Here at GoE, I feel consistently supported thanks to our leadership’s encouragement and mentorship. In my time here, I have been afforded exceptional opportunities to learn new skills and gain access to the certifications and trainings necessary to grow in my field, leaving me ready to take on each new challenge. Not to mention, as a Veteran, it feels extremely rewarding to get to work on projects that support Veterans, their families and their care.”

A Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), specializing in industry-leading project management delivery, GoE was founded on the basis of “Serving Those Who Serve”. Since 2011, the company has delivered its strategic project delivery solutions in support of projects for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD), helping to improve healthcare for Veterans across the nation.

GoE Executive Director Christy Ullo shared, “GoE is blessed to have a team of Veterans, able to offer significant insight into the needs of the patients, and their families, when they seek care at these facilities. This insight has proved invaluable to our success overall, and this latest recognition for our efforts is an additional honor we feel privileged to accept. We look forward to continuing to expand our support for Veterans both through our hiring practices and our work on Veteran healthcare projects.”

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain Veterans. With this award, Go Energistics joins 848 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring Veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and Veteran integration assistance criteria, including Veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of Veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for Veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for Veterans.
